Getting Things Done With Proper Time Management

Labels:

Time management is also an aid in remembering obligations such as meetings, appointments, and special events. Time management is not a fad, since its users are usually highly appreciative of the systems used and they generally say that their productivity has risen by 15–25 per cent as a result. The trick to successful time management is setting up goals that work, while having an awareness of those goals and prioritizing your list of goals.

Time management is a skill that can be learned. The purpose of time management is to provide structure to you life, as well as give you greater peace of mind. Time management is one of the hardest things to do but one of the most important because: When time is gone, it’s gone. You can’t retrieve it. You can’t store it up for later use.

Different time management issues may require different strategies. Task-Based Time Management is best represented by Getting Things Done which helps you organize the tasks you wish to do by priority and venue. Effective time management is learning say no to tasks in categories 3 and 4 to make more time for tasks in categories 1 and 2. In any business, effective time management is the cornerstone of success, particularly in this on-demand era where time is in increasingly in short reserve.

Great article.
If you'd like a tool for setting your goals and implementing GTD, you can try this application:

http://www.Gtdagenda.com

You can use it to manage your goals, projects and tasks, set next actions and contexts, use checklists, schedules and a calendar.
A mobile version and iCal are available too.

Hope you like it.
